The
true life on board of a
well sailing cruising yacht.
Easy sailhandling, good sailer, in the deckhouse view all
around upper
deck, little draft,
because of the large tankage a good radius of action, very fine classic
lines.
Design:
The sailing yacht made of steel is a design by M.Bekebrede. He has laid
all his experience in designing sturdy, seaworthy sailing yachts in the
Noordkaper. The yacht is especially suitable for sailors who are staying a
long time on board, as making a long trip or ven living on it. In
combination with a lift keel construction the Noordkaper is also suitable
for shallow waters. Because of the double storey under the deck house the
Noordkaper has a lot of space. It is possible to look around freely from
the deckhouse in order to have a close contact with the world outside.
Sizes: The
Noordkaper can be built in lengths between 35 and 60 feet.
Hull:
The round bilge hull is built of digitally cut steel. Hull thickness 5 mm, deck and
deckhouse 4 mm. Cabin edges are being semi round completed.
Water-overflow-pits and bollards are made out of stainless steel. Aluminum
hull also available
Deck house: From
the U-bank in the deckhouse you have a clear view all around. There is a
large chartable. A steering gear inside is optionally. The Noordkaper can
be delivered with a classic upright deckhouse or an extended cutter
deckhouse.
Paintwork:
After completing the hull, the yacht will be thoroughly preserved with a
two components epoxy paint system inside out. The colours will be selected
by the customer. The quality of the present paint systems will reduce the
amount of maintenance to a minimum.
Motor:
The Noordkaper has a Yanmar diesel engine. Other brands are optional. The
propeller shaft is water lubricated and has
a thrust bearing. In the fuel system is a watershed double filter installed.
The yacht is provided with a three-bladed fixed propeller.
Rigging:
The Noordkaper is short rigged and normally equipped with a Furlex roller reefing
jib, therefore is it possible to sail the yacht with a small crew. The
mast and the gib are made of anoded aluminium. The deckfittings are
mostly by Rutgerson with winches from Anderson.
Steering:
Jefra transmission with a rod driving gear for a good feeling with a 107
cm wheel. Pedalstal model classic with steering compas engine control
integrated.
Keel:
The yacht is a longkeel yacht with a boxkeel from head till rudderheel. A
liftkeel construction to serve the keel electric hydraulic from the
cockpit is optional. In case of a liftkeel construction the draft will be
reduced till a minimum of about 1.40 till 2.60 meter. The smart construction makes
the keelbox almost invisible in the interior.
Tank:
Three steel dieseltanks are welded in the hull. Depending on the size of
the yacht, they have a capacity of 1200 litres in three tanks. It is possible to use the tank
exclusively for the heater system or the generator. There are stainless
steel drinkwatertanks built with a capacity of 600 litres and a
stainless steel 180 litres foulwatertank with a capacity which depends on the chosen
interior of the yacht.
Interior:
From the floor the hull is well isolated with a 5-6 centimetres thick
foam coating. The woodwork is made of mahogany. Teak or another kind of
wood are optional. The space is divided according to the wishes of the
customer. There is enough space for a separated shower and toilets, two
sitting area’s and good sleeping places in separated cabins. In the
yachts you find among other things hot and cold water, central heating,
vhf, a log and
dept gauge. This all sums up to a complete yacht fitted with modern
conveniences. Central heating bij Webasto, boiler heated bij 230V, engine
and Webasto.
Sailing:
The quality offshore cruising sails from De Vries Sails are delivered with a mainsail cover.
Genua with UV protection on the Furlex roller reefing foresail. The boat is
cutter rigged.
Electric:
24 Volt system 6x 140 Ah Mastervolt gel battery, 40A Mastervolt charger,
shore power 16A connection 30 mtr cable . Halogeen spots in interior.
